Young Voices of Science (YVoS)

A free science communication training program that prepares and empowers environmental science students to share their knowledge, concerns, and hopes for the future with the wider world through expert-led workshops and real-world outreach projects. I participated in the Fall 2025 cohort and wrote an op-ed.

A a free student-teacher-scientist partnership founded in 2005 that connects middle and high school students with volunteer plant scientists who mentor them online through plant-focused scientific investigations in the classroom. I participate as a mentor and served as a liaison through the F2 Fellows program.

A nonprofit educational organization that matches volunteer scientists with classrooms, scout troops, libraries, and other groups for free video conference Q&A sessions to humanize science and connect people with scientists.

Letters to a Pre-Scientist

Pairs fifth to eighth grade students in US low-income communities with STEM professionals worldwide for a yearlong pen pal program where they exchange letters discussing higher education pathways, STEM careers, and overcoming obstacles

An Ecological Society of America initiative launched in 2024 that offers fellowships to students and early career scientists to create science communication products addressing climate change and other stressors in National Parks, initially focusing on Northeastern parks.
