About Me

I am currently a Research Associate in the Brando Lab at the Yale School of the Environment, based in New Haven, CT, U.S. As an R.A., I work closely with undergraduate and graduate students, support data analysis for their projects, and conduct independent research using terrestrial LiDAR at our field station, Tanguro, in Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Originally,  from Alexandria, V.A., I graduated with B.A.'s in Biology and Spanish language and culture from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2020, with a minor in Botany and Microbiology. As an undergrad, I had the opportunity to research the temperate forests of Ohio and the mangrove forests of Costa Rica, as well as volunteer for various wildlife conservation programs in Thailand, South Africa, and Ecuador.

I continued my education by earning a Master's degree from James Madison University, where I researched socioeconomic and ecological trade-offs in cattle pastures in the tropical dry forests of Pedasi, Panama and the temperate oak-hardwood forests of Rockingham County, Virginia, U.S., under the mentorship of Dr. Heather Griscom.

Now as an R.A. with Dr. Paulo Brando, I utilize remote sensing and data science tools to investigate ecological questions regarding resilience of the Amazon to disturbance under future global change. See some of my current projects here.
